Physiological and histological effects of apigenin and luteolin on Cytarabine injected rats

The present study was undertaken to the effect of apigenin and luteolin on physiological histological changes in rats treated with cytarabine drugs. Thirty-five albino healthy male adult equal age weighing 250 -300g were enrolled. Rats randomly divided into seven groups according treatment. Group “1” normal saline served as control group. Groups “2,3 4” received cytarabine, apigenin, respectively, while 5, 6, 7 a combination “apigenin + cytarabine”, “luteolin respectively. After one week treatment, all sacrificed for finding, blood samples collected from each rat biochemical parameters analysis. results this showed that increased activity GPT, GOT, cholesterol levels after intraperitoneal injection comparison control. There no significant difference GPT GOT when administrated orally compared When are combined they have protective leakage liver enzymes serum. Apigenin histologically protect cells damage administered alone. These findings conclude side effects its function rats.
